Oh hell yeah. Unsure about how you really feel about anything and just want to sit and watch TV until your brain numbs? Just like emotions vary from moment to moment in the wake up Happens All The Time - Erics Trip - Peterso does the vibe and flow of Love Tara. The strings of his acoustic guitar buzz with each strum, echoed by the quiet ringing out of a electric guitar somewhere in the background.
Shouldn't it be me who feels uneased? He sounds filled regret more and more after each strum. The verses nearly mirror each other perfectly with slight changes in both. The minute she starts singing, the song becomes hers. She sounds dejected, lost, and torn apart. Chugging chords resonate in the left channel of the mix, insistent pound of the drums in the right, but her vocals crossover to both.
In an elongated pause, you can hear her gasping for air before the song rushes into its climactic end. The jolting feel of the record is unconventional to say the least. The whole cast is great. Some critics have been taken to comparing this movie to The Exorcist. I would also say that this movie is a closer cousin to The Babadook. Both feature a really creepy kid, who keep you guessing if they are going to be the source of the horrors to come. Both also deal with the madness that occurs from loss of loved ones.
Both featured actresses who bared their souls for the role. I loved the Babadook, and consider it one of the best horror films of the last ten years. I think Hereditary has a better closing sequence. I will warn horror fans who like their films to have blood and guts early and often, this is not that kind of horror movie. A Nightmare on Elm Streetthis is not.
